Akhilesh Yadav says, BJP govt has surrendered in front of criminals

Lucknow: Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of surrendering in front of the criminals, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that the daughters-sisters cannot be protected in UP during the BJP’s rule.

In a statement issued here, Mr Yadav claimed that even though the hearts of those in power did not melt, the doctors were shocked after the post-mortem of the rape victim of Barabanki. The doctors said that they have never seen such a case before. It is apparent that Uttar Pradesh has transformed into ‘barbaric murder state.’

He said that frequent cases of rapes are being reported in the state. How can someone believe the police under the BJP government when an Inspector makes a lewd remark on a harassment victim at the Saurikh police station in Kannauj? How can anyone get justice in such a situation?

Mr Yadav averred that in Jalaun, a girl was raped while she was going to meet her mother in the hospital. She was allegedly gang-raped. A girl was abducted and murdered for ransom in Farukkhabad. An eight-year-old was raped in Banda. A student, who had gone to get her Aadhar Card made was raped in Jhansi. Women were murdered in Aligarh and Ghaziabad.

The former UP CM alleged that people have lost all faith in the BJP government and its police and hence, Hathras’s victim family does not want to live in UP. They also want to shift their cases outside UP.
