New Delhi. The Congress on Saturday released the first list of 13 candidates for the West Bengal assembly elections. The list of party candidates also includes the name of senior leader of West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee Nepal Mahato who will contest from his current seat, Baghmundi. The Congress is contesting elections in West Bengal along with the Left parties and the Indian Secular Front.
As per the alliance agreement, Congress will contest 92 seats this time as in 2016. West Bengal will go to polls in eight phases. Votes will be cast in different regions in the state on March 27, April 1, April 6, April 10, April 17, April 22, April 26 and April 29.
