New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to people to use a record number of their franchisees when voting began on Saturday morning for the first phase of assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam. Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “First phase election has started in Assam.

Request a record number of votes from eligible voters. I especially appeal to my young friends to cast their vote. “Today the first phase of West Bengal assembly elections has started. I request voters to vote in record numbers on these seats. “

The BJP hopes to return to power in Assam and defeat the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. Elections in Assam and Bengal will be held in three and eight phases respectively. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
