New Delhi: After the all-party meeting of the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the process of delimitation and peaceful elections are major milestones of restoration of full statehood in Jammu and Kashmir.
He tweeted, “Today’s meeting on Jammu and Kashmir was held in a very cordial atmosphere. Everyone expressed commitment to the Constitution and democracy. Emphasis was laid on strengthening the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir. We are committed for the all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir.
In another tweet, he said, “Discussions took place on the future of J&K and the process of delimitation and peaceful elections are important milestones in restoring statehood, as promised in Parliament.”
Earlier, most of the political parties involved in the all-party meeting raised the demand for restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and the conduct of assembly elections at the earliest.
