New Delhi: A BJP ally from Rajasthan on Thursday alleged that former chief minister Vasundhara Raje has been trying to “save” the Ashok Gehlot government in the state.
“Former CM Vasundhara Raje has been trying her best to save the Ashok Gehlot government, which is in a minority. Many MLAs of the Congress were called up by her in this regard,” Hanuman Beniwal, a Lok Sabha MP, claimed in a tweet.
There was no immediate reaction from Raje, a senior BJP leader who has been the state’s chief minister for two terms.
Significantly, Gehlot’s Congress government in Rajasthan was in trouble when Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Gehlot and his supporting legislators raised the flag of revolt against the CM. The relationship between Gehlot and Pilot has been going on since the formation of the Congress-led government in the state.
Taking a strong stand towards Pilot after this political development, the Congress sacked him from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President. His two confidants were also removed from the post of minister.
