New Delhi: Special CBI court will give verdict on 30 September in Babri Masjid demolition case. Justice SK Yadav has directed all the accused to be present in the court during the pronouncement of the verdict. In August, the Supreme Court directed the extension of one month of the deadline for completion of the trial of the 1992 case.
The special CBI court completed the hearing of the case on 1 September after hearing the arguments, testimony and cross-examination of all the parties. Earlier, senior lawyers Mridal Rakesh, IB Singh and Mahipal Ahluwalia presented oral arguments on behalf of the accused, followed by CBI lawyers Lalit Singh, R.K. Yadav and P. Chakraborty also gave oral arguments.
There are 32 accused in this case, including former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Sakshi Maharaj, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Champat Rai.
