Australian veteran batsman Dean Jones died in Mumbai on Thursday. Born in Melbourne on 24 March 1961, Jones breathed his last at the age of 59. Jones was currently commenting on the IPL 2020 from Mumbai. Jones made his debut in 1984, playing in the West Indies. In the first innings of his Test career, he had scored 48 runs.

After retirement, he had made a mark as a successful commentator. This time he was doing a commentary from Mumbai in the IPL. Jones was part of the IPL commentary panel this time, with Brett Lee, Brian Lara, Graeme Swann and Scott Styris doing commentaries from Mumbai.
