West Bengal education department plans to shift class 12 board exams to 2021. Also, there are talks to put class 10 board exams on hold, say top officials.
Class 10 exams called as Madhyamik are usually held by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in the month of February whereas, class 12 board exams called as Higher Secondary are organized in March by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
However, as the pandemic has put education industry into standstill, the officials are planning to postpone the pending exams.
Also, the syllabus committee is coming up with various ways by holding talks to ensure students don’t feel the burden of studies in this crisis situation.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had stated in August that schools may reopen from September 5 if situations change for the better.
As the situation is still dangerous everywhere due to the coronavirus pandemic, schools in the state will be closed till 30 September 2020.
