Mumbai: It has become painful in Bhandara, Maharashtra on Saturday morning. 10 newborns have died due to fire in a government hospital here. 17 newborns were placed in the Sick Newborn Care Unit . This information was told by Dr. Pramod Khandate, civil surgeon of the district hospital, in conversation with media. Dr. Khandate has said that late Friday night a nurse was seen emitting smoke from that ward. After which the accident was detected.
According to the initial investigation, the incident happened due to a short circuit in the district hospital. The fire broke out at the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU). A total of 17 children were admitted in this ward. The fire was so terrible that according to today, 10 newborns have died. The same children are kept in this ward, whose condition is critical, whose weight is also very low.
The fire brigade, who arrived on the spot, started a rescue operation with the help of people in the hospital, in which 7 children have been rescued so far. The state of chaos remains after the incident.
The parents of the children who have been victims of the fire have been informed and seven children rescued have been sent to another ward. Patients have been shifted to another ward safely from ICU ward, dialysis and labor ward. The relatives are insensitive. People are demanding an inquiry into the fire.
