New Delhi: While pointing out the case of Bhupinder Singh Mann’s separation from the committee set up by the Supreme Court in the Kisan agitation case, Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said that there is some confusion in understanding the law. The person may have an opinion before becoming part of the committee, but his opinion may change later. Supreme Court Chief Justice Bobde said that there is a misunderstanding on the law, which we are paying attention to.
The apex court said that if you appoint the committee and if they have expressed any view then it does not mean that they should not be in the committee. Ok, you have said something and you are entitled to change your perspective. The committee is not a judge. The Supreme Court expressed these views during the hearing of a case of disqualification.
The apex court made this comment on Bhupinder Singh Mann’s separation from the committee set up by the Supreme Court regarding farmers. The CJI said that the members of the committee can only give their opinion, only the judges will take the decision. The court has also formed a committee regarding the delay in filing appeals through the Legal Services Authority.
