New Delhi: The Dhauli river has flooded due to a glacier burst at Raini in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. This has increased the risk from Chamoli to Haridwar. The administration has been alerted as soon as the glacier burst, the rescue team has left for the spot. Police are alerting loudspeakers of river banks in Chamoli district. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is constantly monitoring the entire situation.
Additional District Magistrate of Tehri, Shiv Charan Dwivedi said that an alert has been issued in the district after receiving information about flooding in Dhauli river. Along with this, Haridwar district administration has also issued an alert. All the police stations and riverbanks have been instructed to be vigilant. At the same time, instructions have been issued to the Srinagar Hydroelectric Project to reduce the water of the lake so that it does not have any problem in releasing excess water when the water level of Alaknanda rises.
It is being told that the dam was damaged after the glacier burst. Due to which rivers have flooded. The Tapovan Barrage is completely demolished. In Srinagar, the administration has appealed to the people living in settlements along the river to move to safer places. At the same time, laborers working in the river are also being removed.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat received full information from Secretary Disaster Management and DM Chamoli. The Chief Minister is constantly monitoring the entire situation. All the districts concerned have been alerted. People are being appealed not to go to the banks of river Ganges. At the same time, CM is being told that an aerial survey of the scene can also be done. All programs in Chamoli district have been canceled. At the same time, an emergency meeting of top officials can be called.
