New Delhi: The first meeting of the four member countries of Quad, India, Australia, USA and Japan was held online on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) said in the opening address of the quad summit that he views the expansion of the ancient philosophy of India, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, from a positive perspective, which considers the whole world as one family. We will take mutual cooperation to new heights. We will increase cooperation between the countries of the secular, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region with shared values.
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla told after the meeting, the Prime Minister (First Quad Leaders’ Virtual Summit) said that this partnership is for the welfare of the world. Today’s conference shows that Quad leaders have adopted a positive agenda and outlook. Focused on contemporary issues like vaccine, climate change and emerging technology.
The Australian PM said that it would be the Indo-Pacific region, which would determine the fate of the world in the 21st century. We are the four great democratic powers of the Indo-Pacific region. We will take other countries of the region forward with us to strengthen peace, stability and prosperity through our partnership. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga also participated in this virtual summit.
