Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that women’s safety, respect and self-reliance will lead to women’s empowerment, awareness is necessary for this. In this sequence, ‘Mission Shakti Abhiyan’ is being conducted by the state government, the positive results of which are visible. She expressed confidence that the ‘Mission Shakti Abhiyan’ will achieve its goals and the empowerment of women will bring prosperity to the entire society and country.

The Chief Minister was addressing the Hindustan Mission Shakti Mahasanvad program in a virtual mode at his official residence here today. On this occasion, she also interacted with 10 women who achieved outstanding achievements and successes in various fields through video conferencing. He said that at present many women and girls are showing the way to society and becoming the inspiration of people with their specific works, achievements and successes.

The Chief Minister said that lack of awareness is the major cause of female crimes. In order to cope with the challenges faced by women, awareness-raising works are necessary to be done on a large scale. In view of this, the first phase of ‘Mission Shakti’ was inaugurated on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri in the year 2020. This year, on March 8, 2021, the second phase of this campaign started on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The Chief Minister said that the present state government has been committed and sensitive to the safety, respect and self-reliance of the women. Only after coming to power in the year 2017, the state government took action to set up the Ante Romeo squad for the protection and honor of the girl child. Under ‘Mission Shakti’, women helpdesks have been set up in 1,535 Thane and 350 tehsils, which are functioning effectively. Action has been taken under the recruitment of women in the police force, as a result of which more number of women have joined the police force. He said that women cyber crime cells have been established in 18 police zonal offices and one women police checkpoint-counseling center has been set up in districts.
