New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday lashed out at the Central Government over the complaint of inadequate supply of oxygen in Delhi, saying that till the next order, the capital Delhi should be supplied 700 metric tonnes of oxygen every day, otherwise action will be taken.
A division bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice MR Shah said during the hearing of the petition challenging the contempt order of the Delhi High Court, “Delhi will have to deliver 700 metric tonnes of oxygen daily till further orders. If this is not done then action will be taken against the officials concerned. ”
Justice Chandrachud said, “When we are saying 700 metric tons, give this much oxygen. Don’t force us to take tough steps. “
The apex court’s displeasure was because its Thursday order to provide 700 metric tonnes of oxygen to Delhi was not being implemented.
