Kanpur: 16 people died and more than 6 were injured when a mini bus and Vikram collided in Sachendi area of Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday night.
Police sources said that near the canal in Kisan Nagar area of Sachendi, there was a fierce collision between a private minibus full of passengers and Vikram. On receiving the information of the accident, the police of Sachendi police station reached the spot and with the help of local people started relief work by taking out the injured from the damaged vehicles.
The police took action to immediately take the injured to Hallet Hospital by ambulance. It is being told that 16 people have died in the accident. Till the filing of the news, about 18 injured have been brought to the hospital for treatment. CMO Nepal Singh has reached the spot along with Principal Dr RB Kamal in the hospital.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the horrific accident in Kanpur. He has expressed condolences for the deceased. He has ordered the district and police administration to do relief work in the incident as well as provide better treatment to the injured. At the same time, it has been said that a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each will be given to the dependents of the deceased. He has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
