Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi chief minister, said on Monday that rescuers are attempting to remove people from a four-story building that collapsed in the national capital’s Sabzi Mandi neighborhood and that he is watching the situation. After the home fell at about 11.50 a.m., a call was made from the Sabzi Mandi neighborhood.
Five tenders have been dispatched to the scene for rescue and relief efforts, according to officials. Two further bids were dispatched to the site later by the local government. So far, just one person has been rescued and is being treated at a local hospital. The structure fell in the Sabzi Mandi Ghanta Ghar neighborhood of Malka Ganj, directly across from the Robin movie. This comes as rain is falling in the nation’s capital. However, it is still unclear if the structure fell as a result of the rainfall.
This year, the patchy monsoon has resulted in sporadic rainfall in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). This has resulted in significant waterlogging concerns in the city and many reports of a wall collapse.
