Date:

New Delhi. Gold fell by Rs 130 to Rs 39,140 per ten grams and silver by Rs 110 to Rs 46,640 per kg in the Delhi bullion market last week, despite the festive season due to the fall in overseas prices. According to information received from London and New York, gold spot fell by $ 15.95 to $ 1,488.65 an ounce last week.

This affected the price in the local market as well, though the decline was less visible here. Gold prices generally rise in the country during the festive season. The decline in the previous week has indicated signs of slowing demand.

December gold futures abroad also fell by $ 16.80 to $ 1,493.50 an ounce in hopes of a positive outcome in talks about a solution to the trade war between the US and China. The silver spot closed steady at $ 17.53 an ounce on the weekend following week-long volatility.
