The BJP is unconcerned about the arrival of AAP and Trinamool, claiming that they would be welcomed as “tourists” who will leave after the election. The two parties’ arrival is likely to slash the votes of the Congress, which became the single largest party in the state after capturing 17 of the state’s 40 seats in the 2017 elections but lost to the BJP when it came to forming a government. With the aid of Independents, the BJP, which won 13 seats, established the government.
