New Delhi: The country’s largest automaker Tata Motors has also joined the list of manufacturers of driverless cars. Tata Motors company Jaguar Land Rovers showcased a driverless electric car suited to the future.
It has been developed at the company’s innovation center located in Warwick University in central Britain. The company has produced it under Project Vector.
According to the company, Project Vector is a project to develop advanced, multi-purpose, automatic and flexible electric cars. Ralph Speth, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jaguar Land Rover said, “Project Vector shows that Jaguar Land Rover is a leader in innovation to make our society safer, more healthy and the environment cleaner.”
He said, “Through this project we are bringing together the outstanding talents of academia, supply chain and digital services sector to develop connected and integrated systems of traffic.
These systems are the cornerstones of Destination Zero. The company names a future of the auto industry as Destination Zero, where accidents are zero, emissions are zero, and road traffic pressure is zero.
The company said that the length of this car is only four meters and it has been designed keeping in mind the cities. It has all the batteries and drivetrain equipment on one plane, which makes it multi-purpose. The inside cabin is also designed in such a way that it can be changed for personal or commercial use.
