Amit Shah Confident of BJP Defeating SP, Congress, BSP Combined in UP

In Varanasi on Friday, senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed organisational functionaries from across the state, including those in charge of the 403 Assembly constituencies and leaders of district and regional units, to kick off his party’s preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for next year. According to a party leader who attended the meeting, Shah informed the crowd that the Congress, SP, and BSP would not be able to beat the BJP even if they united.

According to reports, Shah lauded Yogi Adityanath’s government for peace and order, anti-mafia activity, and health-care management during the epidemic. While every administration faced anti-incumbency, Shah is alleged to have stated that the pro-incumbency attitude in favour of the Adityanath government was significantly stronger. According to sources, Shah informed the crowd that the results of the 2022 UP elections will determine the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. All eyes were on UP, he remarked, since the path to success in Delhi went through it. The BJP and its allies won 325 Assembly seats in 2017. On Friday, Shah urged the state party to work more in order to achieve a larger win.

“The meeting’s focus was on organisational building, particularly at the booth level, in preparation for the Assembly elections.” “We’ve been told to register 100 new members at each station, as well as interact with first-time voters,” a party official stated. According to sources, Shah met with certain constituency in-charges and solicited their input on organisational matters. He also requested that all party employees be assigned duties by state leaders. Despite the fact that the elections have yet to be announced, reports claim that the in-charges have been instructed to begin working in their allocated constituencies.

Shah allegedly targeted SP president Akhilesh Yadav for his recent statements on Muhammad Ali Jinnah, according to a party official who attended the meeting. “By comparing Jinnah to Sardar Patel, Akhilesh has demonstrated a lack of seriousness,” he remarked. He further said that the BSP and the Congress are weak, and that even if all three parties banded together, they would not be able to beat the BJP. According to Swatantra Dev Singh, the BJP state unit president, Shah exhorted those who attended the conference to swear that “booth jeeta, toh UP jeeta (if the booth is won, UP is won).”

“He talked about the significance of the constituency in-charge and the plan for winning 300+ seats.” “On the strength of its workers and the blessings of the people, the BJP will win the elections,” Singh stated. Adityanath also spoke at the event. Shah and Adityanath will attend a public rally in Azamgarh on Saturday, where they will lay the foundation stone for a state institution. Shah would then fly to Basti to open a sports event and then to Gorakhpur, Adityanath’s stronghold, before returning to Delhi.
