Given the potential threat posed by the omicron variant of the coronavirus, Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting with senior officials and directed them to take precautions at all levels. The Prime Minister said the monitoring committee, monitoring team, Ministry of Health team, DM and DSO should be activated.

Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed senior officials to work on the vigilance. In connection with this new option in Uttar Pradesh, instructions have been given to investigate people coming from abroad from all locations, including Lucknow. Supervisory boards, health brigades, district judges and other officials took the initiative at the grassroots level.
The identification of passengers coming from abroad and the Covid protocol are strictly followed. Along with this, the team of experts formed in the second wave of Corona, following the instructions of Yogi, is keeping a close eye on this new variant.

This team will assess the symptoms, effects and dangers of this new variant abroad. How much is the infection rate of this new Omicron variant, how dangerous is this new variant from Delta, and the effect of the vaccine on this new variant – etc., will be assessed.
According to a government statement, the state government, which has controlled the first and second wave of coronavirus infection, has started taking all precautions, taking seriously the Omicron variant, which is more dangerous than the delta variant. The statement said that strictness had been increased at all the state airports, and free RTPCR screening of all passengers is also being done there. So far, 8,74,37,937 tests have been conducted in UP. The total number of patients under treatment in the state has now come down from 100 to 86.
