New Delhi: Railways has decided to cancel all the old bookings made in regular trains for the journey till June 30 and refund the full ticket money. A railway order states that shramik laborers special train service started from May 1 and special trains started from May 12 will continue to operate. The tickets that will be canceled were booked during the lockdown period when the railways allowed booking for the journey in June.
The railways suspended regular mail, express, passenger and suburban services from 25 March due to the bandh implemented to prevent the spread of corona virus. Earlier, all bookings for regular trains were halted until 17 May. The period of bandh implemented in the country has been increased three times. The extended shutdown for the third time will continue till May 17.
Railways has said that during this period the labor special trains starting from May 1 and special trains running from May 12 will continue to operate. The ticket that is to be canceled was booked during the lockdown period, when the railway was allowing ticket booking for the journey in June.
