Indore: The spread of this epidemic continues to increase in Indore, which is among the districts most affected by the corona virus in the country. The number of epidemic patients has increased from 2,107 to 2,238 with 131 new cases received during the last 24 hours in the district covered by the Red Zone. Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Praveen Jadia gave this information on Thursday.
He said, “So far 1,046 patients in the district have been discharged from hospitals after getting infection-free after treatment. After this, the number of patients being treated in hospitals has come down to 1,096. He also said that a 58-year-old male, who was found to be Covid-19 infected, died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. With this, the number of patients who succumbed to the epidemic in the district has increased to 96.
The mortality rate of Covid-19 patients in the district was recorded at 4.29 percent on Thursday morning. For the last 19 days, this rate in the district has remained below five percent. However, the spread of Covid-19 infection continues in the district. Most of the new patients of this epidemic in the district are residents of Indore city with a population of more than 3 million. This is the situation when the administration has imposed curfew in the urban border since March 25 due to the outbreak of the epidemic and till now more than 300 areas have been declared as containment zones and sealed.
