Mukesh treated Anil like a beggar: report

New Delhi: According to Bloomberg’s report, Mukesh Ambani, the owner of Reliance Industry, treated his younger brother Anil Ambani like a beggar for money in exchange for saving him from going to jail. According to the report, last year, when the police was about to arrest Anil Ambani on the court’s order in the Ericsson case, Mukesh had asked his brother Anil Ambani in a way to pay Rs 460 crore.

This report mentions that Anil talked to his brother for several weeks to avoid going to jail. After this conversation, Anil Ambani handed over two leases of 99 years of his Mumbai office building to his elder brother Mukesh Ambani.

Explain that the Supreme Court held Reliance Communications (RCom) chairman Anil Ambani guilty of contempt in the Ericsson case. The court found him accused of not paying Rs 550 crore to Sweden’s telecommunications company Ericsson despite a Supreme Court order.
