The weekend curfew in Delhi began at 10 p.m. on Friday and will last for 55 hours. The two-day curfew was imposed to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.

The number of new Covid cases in the national capital reached its highest level in eight months. In the last several days, Delhi has seen a massive increase in new cases, with the positive rate reaching above 17%. However, today, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said, Delhi is anticipated to disclose approximately 20,000 new cases, it’s a massive increase in fresh cases and weekend curfew is a step to control the spreading of deadly virus.

List Of Things Allowed In Weekend Curfew in Delhi
- Only supermarkets and pharmacies will be open.
- Public transportation will be available.
- Pregnant women and patients who require medical attention will be permitted to travel with an attendant if a doctor’s prescription is presented.
- People who work in essential/emergency services such as police, civil defence, prisons, house guards, fire departments, and emergency services are allowed to travel.
- With a valid ID, doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other medical personnel working in hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics, and pharmacies can travel.
- Travel from/to airports, train stations, and bus terminals is permitted with the presentation of a valid ticket.
- On display of a valid Admit card, students will be permitted to take the examination.
- On possession of a valid identity card or an examination duty order, examination staff assigned for exam duties will be permitted to travel.
