Mukhtar Ansari, Mau’s Bahubali MLA, was granted bail by the Ghazipur ADJ First Court on Tuesday in an old criminal case. This information has come from his lawyer, Liaquat Ali. He stated that an application was filed in the ADJ First Court of Ghazipur District and Sessions Court under Section 436A, in which the High Court’s instruction was also imposed. The Gangster Act carries a maximum punishment of ten years, according to the application made on behalf of the imprisoned MLA. Mukhtar Ansari, on the other hand, has been in prison since October 25, 2005, and has served more than 12 years and 8 months. As a result, the honourable court today granted him bail in the gangster case, but he still has a number of cases ongoing against him in other state courts.

According to Advocate Liaquat Ali, the High Court decided on January 11 that if the accused presents this order in the trial court within two weeks, the order should be passed by the concerned court.

Mukhtar’s lawyer filed an appeal on this on January 20. The hearing was scheduled for January 28, but owing to the Corona outbreak, the hearing was cancelled due to the presiding officer’s roster being unavailable. The following date has been set for February 1st. Hearing this, the court of ADJ I Ramsudh Singh granted him bail on a one-lakh-rupee personal bond on Tuesday.
