Apple starts iPhone 12 assembly in India

New Delhi: Apple Inc. is starting assembly of iPhone 12 model in India. The move is expected to strengthen the position of the American company in the country. Apple has tied up with third party manufacturers in India such as Foxconn and Wistron to manufacture some of its iPhones in India. These include iPhone SE, iPhone 10R and iPhone 11.

Apple said in a statement that Apple is dedicated to creating the best products and services in the world, which will make our customers happy. According to the company, they are proud to start producing the iPhone 12 for their regional customers in India. While the company based in Cupertino did not name supply partners, sources said Foxconn would make iPhones in India.

Apple started manufacturing iPhones in 2017 with the iPhone SE in India. In a tweet, Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that it is good to see efforts to make India a big hub for mobile and component manufacturing, attracting attention from all over the world. This will create a large number of jobs.
