Rahul Bajaj, the head of Bajaj Auto, is leaving the post of chairman and non-executive director of the company. He will be replaced by Neeraj Bajaj, the chairman of the company.
Neeraj Bajaj, the new chairman of Bajaj Auto, is also a promoter-director of the Bajaj Group. 67-year-old Neeraj Bajaj has nearly 35 years of work experience. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, USA.
Bajaj Auto said in a statement, ‘Rahul Bajaj has been the non-executive chairman since 1972 and has been associated with the group for the last five decades. Considering his age, he has resigned as non-executive director and chairman with immediate effect with effect from April 30, 2021.
Significantly, Rahul Bajaj has played the main role in taking Bajaj Auto to the lofty heights. In the last five decades, under his leadership, the company has achieved many successes. At one time, Bajaj was considered synonymous with scooter in India. After this, when the scooter business softened, Bajaj did not take any time to convert himself into a major bike company.
