Nifty closed to new highs

New Delhi: The last trading day of May has made investors silver. Today, BSE Sensex also crossed the 52 thousand level in a day’s trading and the Nifty has closed after reaching a record high. The Sensex opened at 51,476.22 at the beginning of trading today and had reached 52,013.22 points beyond 52 thousand in the day’s trading. However, at the end of trading, it closed at 51937.44 with a gain of 514.56 points as compared to the previous trading day. The Sensex was up 23 stocks today. The banking sector was booming. The market today got the support of Reliance and banking shares.

The Nifty closed at 15,582.80 today at the end of the day’s trade, up 147.15 points from a trading day earlier. Today 39 stocks closed in green signal on Nifty.

Reliance shares were the biggest buy on BSE. Reliance shares closed 3.13 per cent higher at Rs 2160.45. ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel were the biggest gainers after Reliance. At the close of business, ICICI Bank gained 2.95 per cent to Rs 662.20 and Bharti Airtel gained 2.16 per cent to close at Rs 534.95.

M&M stocks were the biggest sellers on the BSE. M & M’s shares closed at Rs 807.90, down 4.53 per cent at the close of business. Besides M&M, Infi lost 0.79 per cent to Rs 1393.65 and LT lost 0.79 per cent to close at Rs 1393.65.
