Delhi government allows interns, MBBS students to assist duty doctors

In the growing wake of coronavirus pandemic in the national capital Delhi, the government of Delhi has come with a rescue plan for on-duty doctors.

The Delhi government has given a nod to allow fourth and fifth-year MBBS students, interns, and BDS doctors to assist duty doctors in COVID-19 designated hospitals as a way to control the pandemic.

As per an official order, the fourth-year and fifth-year MBBS students and dental doctors will support duty doctors at the honorarium of Rs 1,000 for an 8-hour shift and Rs 2,000 for a 12-hour shift per day.

The move came after the coronavirus count in the Delhi crossed over five lakh cases on Wednesday. The death toll in the city has crossed 7,943.
