Priyanka demanded the cancellation of the CBSE board examination, writes to Nishank

New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a letter to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in view of the cases of growing corona infection in the country and demanded the cancellation of the CBSE board examination.

Priyanka in her letter to the Education Minister said that the government and the Central Board of Secondary Education will be held responsible in case of large number of students being infected at any examination center during the growing epidemic.

She said, “The government and the CBSE should consider whether they are ready to take legal responsibility of the students or others who may be severely affected by the epidemic in this manner.” The Congress general secretary said that more than one lakh cases of Covid-19 were coming up in the country, with millions of children and their parents raising fears and apprehension about gathering at the examination centers amid the second wave of epidemic.

She said that the apprehension of the students is justified because taking the exam under the shadow of fatal disease will cause undue stress in the children and this will also affect their ability to perform best in the exam. Priyanka said, “They are truly demanding to cancel the examination under the current circumstances.”

The letter further said, “I hope that the government will hold talks with schools, students and their parents to find a safe path for them to fulfill their educational obligations.” She said, “As the leader of political parties, it is our responsibility to protect and guide the children.”

According to the new schedule of CBSE Board Exam 2021, the 10th class examination will be held from May 4 to June 7, while the class 12th examination will be held from May 4 to June 15.
