What is Forward Planning?

Concept of the DayWhat is Forward Planning?

Date:

Forward Planning, as the name suggests, is all about planning for the future. There is a famous quote that gives a message that you fail if you don’t plan and it is indeed true. Say, for example, you have an upcoming exam in your college and all you did is not study and do time pass. If you pick up your books just one day before the exam, you will get an understanding of your subject only to a limited extent. This will make you stressed as you won’t be able to give your exams wholeheartedly. This will affect your marks in the exams and thus, it will show your poor planning skills

What is a Win-Win situation?

Thus, the idea of forward planning is you make a timetable of the future events of your life and make a plan of what you can do to complete the future events well. For example, if you are going on a trip to South India during your summer break for a period of seven days, you need to plan in advance what essentials you will require to ensure that your trip is successful. You will have to get a printout of the travel documents, you need to pack your bags as per the weather and demand of your situation, you need to carry some cash and credit facility in your bag to ensure that the travel is smooth and safe. This is all about forward planning wherein, you plan for your future events.

What is Holistic Growth?

Forward planning is required even for small businesses. Small businesses can thrive only when they plan beforehand the future events that may occur in the business journey. For example, if any natural disaster occurs like the coronavirus pandemic or flooding. Small businesses need to have a backup plan of what they will do in such testing times. If they keep their shops closed for the period, how will they generate revenue to pay salaries, maintain relations with clients, sell products or services, etc? The business recovery roadmap needs to be planned well and thus, here comes the idea of forward planning.

Just imagine if the local shop from where you buy the goods or products remains closed for more than a month’s time, how dissatisfied you will feel because you would have to search for another shop which may not exist in your nearby locality. So, even if the shop reopens in its own course of time because it wasn’t prepared to deal with the crisis, it loses its credibility among the regular customers and thus, has to regain the customers’ trust all over again. But if your local shop remains open even during any disaster, you may become more loyal to the shop and even recommend to others how the local shop helped you to get your essentials in needy times.

Thus, the importance of forward planning needs to be understood by every company, business, and even individuals in their lives. Forward planning helps to lead to success and achieve more profits or positive results in the future without any major failure.
