My friend seemed stressed when she was talking to me and when probed further, she shared how she is currently unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She also shared that her husband has a job that can only take care of the current living expenses of the family. But since she has two children and a long future ahead, she is extremely worried about how she will make some savings in these crisis times.

I encouraged her to first get relaxed and work on the skills that she is confident about. She shared how she is good at typing and making records accurately. She was also awarded in her previous jobs as being a consistent employee with no breaks or unnecessary leaves. I asked my friend to watch some videos on Youtube on how to speak confidently to employers or HR during interviews. I told her to use Google search to get some sample resumes and improve her CV.
More than these ideas, my intention was to make her understand that being jobless is not a crime that she is so stressed or anxious about. But not doing anything about the crisis is like putting yourself in a danger. I asked her to follow a healthy routine of living as stress is a silent killer and no company likes to hire people who come with a lot of emotional baggage.
