Due to an increase in coronavirus infections in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday extended the shutdown of schools in the state till January 30.

According to a directive issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi, school shutdown has been prolonged until January 30 and online classes would continue.

Due to an increase in Covid cases, the government had previously ordered the closure of educational institutions until January 23.
