Congress never paid attention to development work in Assam: Amit Shah

Bijni (Assam): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday attacked the Congress, saying it did not pay attention to development work in Assam and did not make concerted efforts to end separatism.

Mr. Shah, while addressing an election meeting organized here by the BJP, said that the Congress did not want to end separatism in Assam. The Congress never wanted to end violence, terrorism and agitation. The Congress is with Badruddin Ajmal, leader of the All India United Democratic Front. He said that Mr. Ajmal cannot be identified with Assam. If anyone can identify Assam, he is Bhupen Hazarika.

He said, “The work has been done to take Assam on the path of development through the double engine government. The BJP had said that form a government under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, we will give a movement free Assam. The BJP had said that the BJP and Assam Gana Parishad should be formed in Assam, we will give you a developed Assam. Today, after fulfilling all the three promises, BJP has come here again to seek your blessings. ”

Mr. Shah said that Mr. Ajmal says that the key to forming a government is in his hands, while everyone knows that the key to forming a government in Assam is in the hands of the people. He said that Assam will not be allowed to become the base of infiltrators.
He said that the pride of Assam was used by intruders to hunt rhinos in the forests of Kaziranga. The government has acted to stop the poaching of rhinoceros by freeing Kaziranga’s land from intruders. The central government has done a lot of work for the development of Assam. Six bridges have been built on the Brahmaputra River and Rs 46 thousand crore has been given for the development of the oil field.
