New Delhi: Votes will be cast on April 10 for the fourth phase in the West Bengal assembly elections. Polling will be held in 44 seats in this phase. The five districts where 44 seats are going to vote in the fourth phase include 9 seats in Howrah, 11 in South 24 Parganas, 9 in Cooch Behar, 5 in Alipurduar and 10 in Hooghly.
Many high-profile personalities of the state are in the fray at this stage. Prominent candidates in the fourth phase are former Bengal Ranji captain Manoj Tiwari, Bengal Education Minister Path Chatterjee, BJP leader and Union Minister Babul Supriyo, Bengal Sports Minister Arup Biswas, Payal Sarkar, Bengal Fire Minister and Behla East Ratna, wife of Shobhan Chatterjee, mayor of the state, former Bengal forest minister Rajiv Banerjee, BJP MP and actress Lockett Chatterjee are in the fray.
The total number of female voters in these 11 constituencies is 15,70,392, while the number of male voters is 15,66,161. Jadavpur constituency has the highest sex ratio of 1,068. There are 1,54,239 female voters against 1,44,420 male voters. After this, the sex ratio in Behala West is 1,054. There are 1,60,502 female voters against 1,52,237 males. The high-profile Toliganj constituency with a sex ratio of 1,051 has 1,31,355 female voters, while male voters are 1,31,355.
Behala East has a sex ratio of 1,036, 1,56,629 female voters against 1,51,618 males; There are 1,46,170 female voters and 1,42,062 male voters in Sonarpur South with a sex ratio of 1,029; And in Sonarpur North with 1,007 sex ratio, the number of female voters is 1,50,432 as against 1,49,430 males.
