NewDelhi: Pakistan political crisis: After all the ups and downs and political tantrums of PTI chief Imran Khan; his removal has set the ball rolling to elect the new leader of the house. The combined opposition or the PDM alliance has already named PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif as its joint candidate. The PTI’s boycott from the NA make it a cakewalk for the Shehbaz to be elected as new PM.
The move came after PTI’s PM candidate Shah Mahmood Qureshi, announced that all the PTI lawmakers would be resigning from the National Assembly. In wake of the development, the PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq replaced Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri to conduct the proceedings
Pakistan’s no prime minister has ever served a full term since its creation, but Ex-PM Imran Khan is the first to lose office through a vote of a no-confidence motion. While Imran Khan has tried its best to change the narrative by making anti-America, by insisting that he has been the victim of a “regime change” conspiracy operated by US along with the Pakistan opposition parties. He has asked his supporters and party member to protest on the street of Pakistan for his ouster.

Pakistan National Assembly’s crucial session began on Monday to elect a new PM, amid uncertainty over the status of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers who have started resigning en masse from the House ahead of the voting to elect the Prime Minister.
PDM joint opposition candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vice-chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi are in the race to become the new premier.
Meanwhile, the 71-year old Shehbaz Sharif is all set to become the premier of Pakistan as per the current NA numbers. Since due to the bulk resignation of PTI members there is hardly any opposition left for Shehbaz. One thing is surprising in the whole political crisis of Pakistan, is that the establishment has been successful in pretending is a neutral stance.
