Saharanpur: Two persons from Deoband town in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh have fallen into the hands of the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (UPATS), official sources said on Friday. They had links with the terror groups Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and Jamat-ul Mujahideen, Bangladesh (JMB).
The ATS officials have brought the duo to Lucknow after their names had cropped up during quizzing of a few people arrested in connection with terror group links.
They have been identified as Aash Mohammed (28), a resident of Deoband and Mohd Haris (23), a resident of Hardwar, but he was living in Deoband, ATS officials said in a press release.
Eight people have already been arrested for their alleged links with terrorist outfits like AQIS and JMB.
