Kanpur (UP): The police have declared Samajwadi Party (SP) law-maker Irfan Solanki and his brother Rizwan and a local court issued non-bailable warrants against them, official sources said on Friday.
Both of them were wanted in connection with arson, rioting and threatening after a woman had lodged a complaint related to a dispute over the ownership of a piece of land at Defence Colony in the Jajmau area of Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh.
According to joint commissioner of police Anand Prakash Tiwari, the police have declared them absconders after ten days of the incident and after registration of an FIR against them. As they had been absent, the police applied to the court for non-bailable warrants against the accused for further action, Tiwari said.
Immediately after getting NBWs from the court, the police intensified search for the accused, but if they continue to evade arrest or do not surrender, the police will attach their properties, Tiwari further said.
