Azamgarh: The voices which were heard when the Nirbhaya case took place in 2010 seem to have died down. There happens to be no protests when one after another girl is either brutally murdered or gang-raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh. In another shocking incident, the body of a missing minor Dalit girl was found in bushes at Maihauli village of Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh district on Thursday.
According to the police, when the girl went missing from her house on October 15, her father lodged a complaint. Some villagers found her mutilated body in bushes and informed the police about it. A police team rushed to the spot along with a forensic team and fingerprint experts to collect the evidence.
The police sent the body for autopsy and registered a case against some unidentified criminals under the SC/ST Act. According to superintendent of police in Azamgarh Rahul Rusia, a team has been set up to investigate the case. The incident has spawned resentment among villagers.
A few days ago, a 38-year-old woman was found unconscious with his hands and feet tied to a rope. She was gang-raped and an iron rod was inserted in her private parts. This shocking incident took place in Ghaziabad. She is in a critical state and undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi. The incident came to light only after the Delhi Women’s Commission issued a notice to the Ghaziabad police calling it another “Nirbhaya case.”
A minor Dalit, girl gang-raped and set affair in Pilibhit, died in Lucknow where she was undergoing treatment last month. Similarly, two Dalit girls were gang-raped and murdered in Lakhimpur-Kheri.
