Kanpur blind murder case worked out; accused arrested after 25 days of the murder
Kanpur (UP): The district police have laid their hands on the murderer of a class 12 student in Kanpur, official sources said on Thursday.
The student Ronil Sarkar, who was a student of Dr Virendra Swarup Education Centre, was killed 35 days ago.
The body of the student was found near the school. Initially, a clue to the case eluded the police, but they sought the help of cyber experts from Hyderabad.
On the grounds of the clue provided by the cyber team the Kanpur police sifted through the conversation between the accused and the student on WhatsApp group. Ronil met a girl at a computer centre in Shyam Nagar.
The accused has been identified as Vikas Yadav (23), a resident of Shyam Nagar, the police said.
Vikas told the police that he suspected Ronil to have an affair with the girl. Vikas also suspected that the girl had rejected his proposal at the behest of Ronil.
Nevertheless, when Vikas wanted to know about her relationship between her and Ronil who, the girl said, was like her brother. She also uploaded a picture on social media, tying ‘rakhi’ around the wrist of Ronil, but Vikas was not convinced and planned to eliminate Ronil.
On October 25, Vikas met Ronil in Shyam Nagar and said that he would like to meet the latter. Ronil said he would do so after school hours on October 31.
When they met, Vikas suggested Ronil to keep away from the girl. After that, Vikas found a picture of Ronil standing with the girl, with lipstick mark. Vikas was so angry that he strangled Ronil to death.
Vikas then escaped to his aunt’s house in Maharajpur. According to inspector of Chakeri police station in Kanpur, Vikas befriended the girl about two years ago through Instagram.
