Group clash leaves three youths injured in Lucknow

Lucknow (UP): There seems to be no end in sight to incidents of crime in Uttar Pradesh whose capital Lucknow saw a group clash in which three persons sustained bullet injuries. The incident took place in the Mandiaon area of the state capital on Tuesday night, the police said on Wednesday. The injured were admitted to a hospital.

Three persons have been taken into custody in connection with the incident and raids conducted at the hideouts of other goons who were involved in the clash. According to additional deputy commissioner of police (east) Abhijit R Shankar, four youngsters identified as Samar, Abhilash, Dheeraj and Aman were standing with their friends in an area near Mandiaon. Meanwhile, Karan and some of his friends who were passing by that area hurled abuses at those youths who were standing there.

Immediately after that, there was a scuffle between the two groups. The warring youths began to throw stones at one another. The goons led by Karan opened fire on the people of the other group from country-made guns. Three persons were injured in the incident. The people belonging to both the groups are inimical to one another for over three years because both the groups want to establish their supremacy in the area, the official said.
