Farmers must be paid within 72 hrs of crop procurement: CM

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that the money is transferred to the bank accounts of farmers within 72 hours of crop procurement. Adityanath ordered it as Rabi crop procurement for 2022-23 begins on Friday.

The central government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat at Rs 2,015 per quintal. Last time, the purchase rate was Rs 1,975. Chief Minister chaired the review meeting regarding the procurement on Friday. He ordered that the money for the procurement of wheat should be transferred to the account of the farmers. It should not take more than 72 hrs. He ordered the officers that all the arrangements must be made so that farmers do not face any problems.

1,48,383 farmers have registered

In the meeting, CM was informed that over 1,48,383 farmers have registered themselves for selling their produce. 4,593 centres have been opened. Purchase has begun at 3,980 centres. CM also directed officials that timely lifting of the crop from mandis should also be ensured.

Anti-Romeo squads must be activated

Adityanath ordered to activation of the Anti-Romeo squad from Saturday, the first day of Navratras. He directed the state police to run a special campaign for the safety of girls. Additional Chief Secretary to Information, Navneet Sehgal informed that the Mission Shakti will also start on 10th April. Anti-Romeo squads came to existence after Adityanath became CM in 2017. The Mission Shakti was the programme ran focusing on the safety and dignity of women and girls, in the last tenure. Sehgal said, In the evening, police will patrol busy markets and crowded places.

Top 10 criminals to identify in each police station

He said that the instructions have also been given to identifying the top 10 criminals in each police station. The state police have been ordered to take bold actions over the criminals. Their illegal properties must be seized and demolished too.
