Bhadohi (UP): There is no end in sight to dog-bite cases in Uttar Pradesh. A pack of canines mauled an infant at Dehati village of Gyanpur area in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahodi district on Sunday night, sources said on Monday. As soon as the baby began to cry, villagers rushed to spot but by the time they reached there the infant had died.
The police said that the body of the baby was sent for post-mortem and an investigation was underway.

Because of the rise in dog bite cases, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation banned keeping ferocious dogs like Pitbull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino as pets. According to reports, Uttar Pradesh has recorded 27, 52, 218 dog bite cases, the highest in the country, since 2019. Tamil Nadu has reported 20, 70, 921 cases, Maharashtra 15, 75, 606 cases and West Bengal registered 12, 09, 232 cases. On the contrary, Lakshadweep reported zero dog bite cases in the same period.
