Chased by monkeys, 5-year-old boy falls off roof, dies

Date:

Budaun (UP): Incidents of monkeys and dogs attacking humans are rising. The administration has failed to check such cases, as it cannot take action against animals for fear of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals. In a recent incident of such an attack, a five-year-old boy fell from the roof of his house and died in Jagat village of Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district, the police said on Tuesday.

When the boy Nikhil was playing on the roof of his house, a troop of monkeys attacked him and the boy, in an effort to save himself rushed towards end of the roof and fell off it. He was rushed to a hospital but he died. On getting information, cops rushed to the spot, but they came to know that the boy fell because of monkeys. According to the father of Nikhil, Nekram, the boy received many internal injuries and fell off the roof unconscious.

Station house officer of Alapur police station Sanjay Singh said that a minor boy had died after he had accidentally fallen off the roof of his house. His parents did want to send the boy for autopsy, he said, adding that since it was an accident, the cops did not force them to go for a postmortem.

In July this year, a 35-year-old woman died after falling off the roof of her house after a troop of monkeys attacked her. Similarly, on August 31, a 52-year-old man died in an attack by monkeys.
