Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stated, “I’m really astonished that Mayawati’s party has not yet become engaged in the Uttar Pradesh Elections campaign.” Vadra questioned Mayawati’s low-profile, implying that the BJP is putting ‘pressure’ to keep the BSP from becoming active.
She claimed that Mayawati’s silence surprised her and earlier she was thinking that may the SP will be active in elections. But now at the middle of the next UP’s election Mayawati’s inactive campaigning and silence surprised her.
The party’s decision to fight the UP struggle alone was also discussed, with the leader suggesting that the party may have a ‘dynamic approach’ when it comes to other states. She also discussed how the Congress has previously ‘experimented’ with partnerships in Uttar Pradesh. She stated that Congress is the only party working for people’s welfare from the last two years and Congress can make an alliance with any other party except, BJP and SP.
Vadra remarked that BJP and SP are playing profit games in this election and we focus on a dynamic approach that works for people and their welfare.
One day before her statement, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had withdrawn her statement identifying herself as the CM face for the UP elections, claiming she was “irritated” after being asked the same question several times. “My party decides to announce the CM in some places and does not do so in others. That is how my political party thinks. There is no doubt in my mind, “When asked why her party was hesitant to name her as the CM candidate, she answered.
