Mathura: A woman and her lover, absconding after polishing off her aunt and a cousin three months ago, fell into the police dragnet. The woman Neha and her lover Yogesh drowned her aunt and cousin in the Ganganahar where their bodies were found floating, the police said on Friday. Failure to pay back Rs 4,00,000 that she had taken from her aunt led to the murders.

Superintendent of Police (city) Martand Prakash Singh said, “We have arrested Neha and her lover Yogesh in connection with the murder of her maternal aunt Mala and her son Vinay.” Mala, a widow, lived with her mother and son Vinay. Neha had taken the loan almost a year ago. As the duo was not in a position to return the money, they murdered Mala and her son, the officer said. The accused took Mala and Vinay to a hotel on the pretext of returning the money on March 21. Instead of taking them to a hotel, the accused pushed Mala and Vinay into the canal. Mala was thrown into the canal in the Raya area, and Vinay was pushed into the water body near Mant area, around 12 km away. The officer further said that Neha and Yogesh had executed the crime with the help of two others Imran and Rakesh.
