Though many people go on complaining endlessly about how boring their work is, and how they have been doing the same job everyday since years. However, when it comes to make some efforts to improve their situation most of these people just go on procrastinating. They somehow have a valid excuse every-time.

Comfort zone is a paralysing place – easy, safe and convenient to stay but one with zero excitement, growth and possibilities .

In her book ‘Danger in the Comfort Zone’ Judith Bardwick has described Comfort zone as a behavioral state within which a person operates in an anxiety-neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviors to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk.

In order to grow personally and professionally a person needs to put some extra efforts and do something more than routine. This doesn’t necessarily has to be a giant leap, change can happen with even small but constant steps.

A child is very comfortable staying with his parents, being dependent on them, learning nothing new. Yet all parents push their kids out of their comfort zone. They send them to school, make them learn new subjects and help them explore their talents. Parents advice children to actively participate in class discussions, make new friends and take interest in sports. Also, whenever their kid faces any minor setback in this process, like – falling while learning to ride a bicycle. Parents convince kids that it’s a part of the process and motivate them to try again.

We all do this for kids because we know how important it is to evolve, how important it is to learn and not sit with just what’s convenient.

Then why as adults we forget the same fact and often fail to apply it on ourselves?
