Alok Kumar said that he had informed the police several times about Alam’s illegal stay in Kanpur but they did not take any action, so he filed a petition in the court for the registration of an FIR against him. The court asked the police to investigate the case.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) South, Manish Sonkar, after the order of the court, said that the case of a Pakistani national hiding and committing fraud had come to his knowledge. An inquiry into the case is going on, he said.
