According to a report in ‘Live Law’, Judge AH ​​Kashikar has said in his judgment that ‘Voter card or voter ID card is sufficient proof of citizenship because a person has to file a declaration with the concerned authority in view of Form 6 of the Representation of People Act. it happens. In which it is declared that he is a citizen of India and if the declaration is found to be false, the person is liable to be punished. ‘

During the hearing, the police told the court that both the accused are Bangladeshi and they were arrested after raiding Rai Road in 2017. Police was informed that illegal Bangladeshi are living in this area. After the raid, the two were arrested for illegally entering India. He does not have any documents that can prove that he is a citizen of India.
